2-HOUR INTRO WORKSHOP FOR TOTAL NEWBIES :
This is a 2-hour Crash Course for The Ultra Beginner.
ABSOLUTELY NO MUSICAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. We’ll cover the basics of tuning, strumming and chording, and send you home with 2-3 songs under your belt. Printouts included.

3-HOUR INTENSIVES IN ALL LEVELS
A 3-Hr.Intensive Workshop is just a little more jam-packed than a 2-Hr. class.

***PLEASE NOTE THAT MISSED WORKSHOP CLASSES CANNOT BE REFUNDED OR MADE UP WITH PRIVATE LESSONS. YOU ARE HOWEVER WELCOME TO SUBSTITUTE BY ATTENDING AN EVENING DURING A SIMILAR WORKSHOP AT A LATER DATE.

HOST A WORKSHOP IN YOUR HOME!!
Do you have friends or family who also want to learn? Why not host a Two-Hour Intro or a 4-Week Workshop in your own home? And consider this: the more friends you bring, the better your chance to get the workshop FREE!!  As long as there is a total of 8 students in the class, the HOST will participate for FREE!! All you need is a well-lit room, large enough to seat up to 12 people maximum comfortably. A large dining room table is ideal, as there needs to be a surface for students to lay their papers.

WHICH ONE ARE YOU? :
 
THE TOTAL NEWBIE – an Absolute Beginner who has never played a stringed instrument (or perhaps ANY instrument ) and has MINIMAL TO ZERO MUSICAL EXPERIENCE. 
 
THE ENLIGHTENED BEGINNNER – a player who has some basic experience, perhaps taken the Newbie class with me, or has learned a few chords and tunes on their own but still feel like they’ve just begun. Also good for the uke ‘dabbler’ who has left it for awhile and needs some refreshing. 

THE ADVANCED BEGINNER –  a player who is ready for more challenging material and already has a decent repertoire of songs under their belt. *A clear knowledge of the fundamentals of tuning, chording, and strumming is essential. Must know the most common 10 – 15 chords without needing to check a reference sheet.

  5. I am interested in your ukulele group lessons. I did not see anything offered in the fall, September, October in the Newmarket area. Do you offer anything for totally beginners. I do not own a ukulele what do you recommend?

  6. I guess we need to be added to your email list. we missed this afternoon’s newbie session in Newmarket unfortunately. This would have been right up our alley and got us started. darn.

    however, I see the workshop for newbies in Mount Albert this coming Wedensday evening at the library. It asks in the ad that we register. it does not say whether we register with you or with the library. I will check their website. but anyway, there will be 2 of us, my husband and myself on Wednesday evening. the fee is $35 each according to the ad. please let us know if this event is cancelled for any reason. many thanks. dora

    • Dora, I’ve discovered that my website messages have not been being sent to me, so I apologize for not answering from here. Thankfully, I have now got you on my regular email list, and am hoping that you and Rick will be able to attend the Holland Landing workshop. Let me know if that’s going to be a problem for you. If so, I’ll try to work something out for us.
